At Biomecanics we work with top quality materials to guarantee the best results, but we are aware that races, games and daily activity will inevitably stain your shoes.

What happens if we machine wash our shoes?

As much as you want to see what it looks like after a day at school or a day in the park, do not put the shoes in the washing machine unless specified on the product label.

Certain materials can deform when soaked in water and, for example, the eyelets through which the laces pass can end up rusting.

Keep in mind that shoes that go into the washing machine absorb a lot of water and often don't dry completely before use. If they remain damp, and together with body heat, mold can appear. This will cause a bad smell and also increases the possibility of foot fungus.

Here are our tips for cleaning our products depending on their manufacturing material.

How to clean leather shoes?

Washing

Remove dirt with a damp cloth and neutral soap.

Drying

Rub the shoe with a dry cloth. NEVER put it near a heat source. Once dry, you can use a neutral colorless shoe cream to moisturize the leather (except for Nobuc leather, textiles and synthetics).

How to clean patent leather shoes?

Washing

Remove dirt with a damp cloth. If the dirt resists, you can also use a neutral soap.

Drying

Use a soft, dry cotton cloth.

How to clean canvas shoes?

Washing

Remove dirt with a damp cloth. If the dirt resists, you can also use a neutral soap.

Drying

Allow to air dry without exposing to direct heat sources.

How to clean felt Biohome?

Washing

Do not machine wash, use a slightly damp cloth.

Drying

Dry at room temperature, do not use a tumble dryer or hair dryer, or expose them to direct sunlight as they will become stiff and discolored.

How to clean canvas Biohome?

Washing

Remove the templates before putting the product in the washing machine. Wash only in short program and cold water, do not add abrasive detergents. Wash separately, DO NOT wash with clothes, towels or rags.

Drying

Dry at room temperature, do not use a tumble dryer or hair dryer, or expose them to direct sunlight as they will become stiff and discolored.

How to clean the insoles of our shoes?

Use a damp cloth or with a little neutral soap if required. Drying indications like those of the shoe. Remember not to put the insoles in the washing machine and remove them regularly (preferably every night) to ensure proper shoe care, and thus prevent sweat stains and even mold from forming.

In order to extend the life of the insoles as much as possible, we recommend you air them after each use. In this way we will achieve and avoid the following:

We will avoid bad smells
We will make it easier for the sweat to dry
We will prevent the skin from getting stiff

All our products have microfiber insoles.

Let them air dry

DO NOT put in the washer or dryer

All our antibacterial insoles offer high breathability and absorption. Most of our designs have removable templates. Take advantage of this advantage!

Mold on templates?

All our products are made with top quality materials and are highly breathable but, on occasion, the moisture that may remain after cleaning or that generated by the body heat itself that accumulates in the foot of our little ones can cause the appearance of small spots of mold.

If you need to replace your little one's shoe insoles, you can go to a specialized point of sale such as pharmacies or orthopedics to acquire a new pair with the same properties.
