The non-slip tread gives the friction to brake and turn without slipping, which is the first thing a foot needs while it still falls a lot, and the endorsement of these barefoot sneakers in leather is signed by the Official College of Podiatrists with its Podologic seal.

Over that tread, the sole is lightweight and flexible and bends at the toes, and the foot rests with zero drop, level from heel to toe. FOAMtech holds the heel from the outside, without the rigid heel counter that would go inside, and the reinforced toe cap stands up to the rubbing. The lining and the insole are made in breathable On Steam textile, which draws the vapour out without taking the shoe off and keeps the inside fresh; that insole comes out whole, it is removable, so the room left at the front can be seen, and the adjustable fastening holds the instep without pressing on it.
