Biomecanics first steps ankle boots in leather, with an external stabiliser at the heel instead of a rigid internal heel counter: it holds the side-to-side movement from the outside and lets the structures of the foot itself do the work. Just above it, the U-shaped cutout opens the edge of the heel so the tendon meets no pressure when it bends.

The grip comes from the non-slip tread and the flexibility from a lightweight sole that gives where the foot bends; the reinforced toe cap stands up to the dragging of crawling and the adjustable fastening draws in the instep without squeezing it, as well as opening right out to put the shoe on. The insole is removable: it comes out to air and to measure the foot on top of it, and it shares the breathable On Steam textile with the lining, which keeps the inside dry while the foot stays in the shoe.
