BIOMECHANICS ANSWER

At Biomecanics, every design decision begins with one question: Does this help children’s feet move, grow and develop properly? Biomechanics gives us the answer and helps us understand how children’s feet move, grow and change.

4 EASY TIPS WITH BIOMECHANICS CRITERIA

Discover 4 tips with biomechanics criteria to test and choose the right footwear for your child.

WATCH HOW THEY MOVE

The child must walk smoothly, without dragging their feet or moving unnaturally. The sole must be fexible in the toe area.

MAKE SURE IT RESPECTS THE SHAPE OF THEIR FEET

A child’s foot does not only grow lengthwise: it also changes shape, width, volume and proportions. That is why, there must be room at the toe, not be too tight over the vamp and ft around the heel properly.

TOUCH THE INSIDE OF THE SHOE

Proper footwear must always keep the foot comfortable, dry and be pleasant when it comes into contact with the skin. Make sure the insole is antibacterial and removable. And also, that the lining is soft, padded in the pressure areas and free of stitching inside.

HAVE A LOOK AT THE STRUCTURE

The shoe must have a structure that favours their natural stability. Without restricting their natural movement. It shouldn’t be too stif or unstable due to a lack of structure.

BIOMECHANICS GUIDES OUR STEPS.

Every design decision is backed by studies, tests, and biomechanical data that ensure our footwear supports the healthy development of children's feet at every stage and for every type of use.

WE STUDY HOW THEY MOVE

Every stage develops diferently. That’s why we analyse everything in the laboratory, from crawling and frst steps to a stable gait. We observe how children place their feet, balance their bodies and how their gait evolves.

WE STUDY HOW THE FOOT DEVELOPS

We have built a unique knowledge base on children’s feet, using thousands of 3D scans of real children’s feet. This enables us to design footwear that adapts to the way their feet grow and move at every stage.

WE DESIGN FOR EVERY STAGE

Drawing on wear trials, family panels and biomechanical design criteria, we develop our collections to respect the needs of children’s feet.
